what religion is for you quiz

I found this quiz on a random blog i was looking at
it apparently tells you what religion best suits you
and i had islam and satanism in my top 5
hmmm... interesting i must say
i suppose if u are looking from a purely religious point of view they could be compared similar to christianity in some ways
You scored as Christianity. Your views are most similar to those of Christianity. Do more research on Christianity and possibly consider being baptized and accepting Jesus, if you aren't already Christian.

Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form. The Holy Trinity is the concept that God takes three forms: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (sometimes called Holy Spirit). Jesus taught the idea of instead of seeking revenge, one should love his or her neighbors and enemies. Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross to save humankind and forgive people's sins.

it gets a rating of good to great

well the long weekend has come to an end
i went to the good friday combined service our church has with the nearby uniting
and salvos each year
this year we met at the uniting church's building which is a block away from our building
it was interesting
there was something that was kinda funny but also sad
a lady got up to do a reading from the bible and did so but read more than she "was supposed to" she felt so embaressed, not that anyone would have known any different, that she went "oops, here ends the Word of God"
the sad thing, that she seemed to feel embaressed for something that really doesn't matter, but more so that she must have felt an expectation of her to perform her reading perfectly, no room for mistakes
i mean really who cares if she had read one more verse or whatever, great! it is the Word of God keep on reading
the funny thing that she said "and here ends the Word of God", obviously that is not where it ends cause she stopped mid sentence
i found it a little ironic and had a quick giggle to my self in my head
not that she had not performed perfectly, just the little ironic happening

from then on my weekend was pretty much working and hitting the LAN party some of my friends from church were having
which made me think, hmmm... maybe we should like invite friends outside of this group who don't know God and like LAN gaming
which one of my mates did, good on ya dude!
it'd be cool if next time we all intentionally do this

on sunday night my parents who live in Adelaide were passing through on their way home from Sale and staying a night in Ballarat
so they took me out for dinner, and Tab too which was cool :)
i was pretty excited that they were coming and had been looking forward to it all week
at dinner or on the way there, i can't remember
i mentioned to my dad about if i could buy his car off him
it is a '96 Dihatsu Charade F2, a 200 build limited edition celebration of their winning of the Formula 2 (F2) Australian Rally Championship
it is green, with Charade F2 on the side in white, plastic 5-spoke alloys, abs, cd 4 speaker stereo, body kit - skirts, scoop, and spoiler, and importantly cup holders

hopefully he is willing to part with it by the end of the year
i love that car, and there is a bit of story behind dad getting it and it's sentimental value to us both

so my weekend, it gets a rating of good to great

in my thoughts, in my actions, in my choices

a question i am asking myself at the moment
"so how do i let Jesus take control of my life?"
"how do i lose my life for Him?"
i can talk with Him and say to Him
"i give you my life, come and take control"
but often words are weak unless they are followed by action
i can say i give Him my life and sure some bits
but i have to choose to do so as well
and not just in bits but the whole thing
including the things i want to hold onto
especially the things i want to hold onto
the self centred life is hard to let go of though
and though i try to live the other way it keeps coming back to bite me on the ass
but i will not let it win cause i hate to lose
i know that there is only one way to win though
and that is to lose my life for His sake
whoever came up with fighting fire with fire should have done a bit more chemistry at school
you don't fight fire with fire but water or something else non-flamable to smother it till there is no fire left
so it is in life when conquering something like self centredness i need to get rid of all of it by choosing each day to fully let Jesus take control in my thoughts, in my actions, in my choices

will miss ya just as much

it was 2003 i wasn't at uni anymore and i didn't have a job
i was back in Ballarat though and wondering what the year would bring
i was going to be leading a small group in the youth ministry and studying too
Heather, Kelly, Tab and myself were all doing a couple of bible college subjects
they were Youth Ministry 1 & 2 not your average bible college subjects
but we weren't your average bible college students
we were studying online and got together once a week to meet and listen to that weeks lectures
in one of the first lectures our main lecturer said to look around cause these people will be your new best friends
Heather, Kelly and Tab were already best friends and so they made me apart of their friendship group
little did i know that my friendship with Tab would move from being a friend who i didn't really know that well, to a good friend, to a really good friend, to a best friend, to a best friend who will always be my friend, i hope so anyways
she is leaving town soon, like in a few weeks, moving to Broken Hill to do a discipleship course at Cornerstone
it makes me so happy to see here going off to do what she is supposed to do :)
but it makes me so sad that i won't get to see her :(
Tab and Me
i will miss her smiling face
her questions and challenges on life and faith
her excitment at all those crazy things that make her Tab
her 'so the point of that was' remarks
and even when she makes me mad
i will miss the times we prayed together
i will miss the times we laughed together
and the times we cried
i know she is not dead she is just going away and living somewhere else
so i will look forward to the times we may have in the future
to laugh and cry and have fun and to the phone conversations thanks to God for phones
so to the girl who has taught me so much including how to drive it is goodbye for now
can't wait to come visit love you so much will miss ya just as much

won't take anything for granted

I found this interesting bit in the bible today it comes from Ecclesiastes, near the end of the book.

NIV(New International Version)
When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future.

NLT(New Living Translation)
Enjoy prosperity while you can. But when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. That way you will realize that nothing is certain in this life.

MSG (The Message Paraphrase)
On a good day, enjoy yourself; On a bad day, examine your conscience. God arranges for both kinds of days So that we won't take anything for granted.

cause hey what would it be like?

cross
the cross is a great symbol
it represents the death of Jesus
and the forgiveness of our sins
well at least to those of us
who have recognised our need of forgiveness
otherwise it can just be
a nice thing to wear around your neck
and even have as it has been said
"a cute little man on it"
but to christians it is probably
the one major symbol
along with the fish symbol
fish
that most christians
will identify themselves with
all across the world churches have crosses
on their buildings
in their buildings
as apart of their logos
and where ever else you might like to put one
the cross is a great symbol
and alot of important powerful stuff
happened that day when Jesus died upon one
but it wasn't finished there
and that is the thing that has been getting to me
on the third day Jesus rose from the dead
yep he was dead and buried
not partially dead
or clinically dead but on life support or something
fully dead no pulse no life
then he was alive with a pulse and life
he came back to life
proving that he is the Son of God (Romans 1:4)
and the other thing is that it was for our sins
that he died
and our justification (4th definition is good) with God
that he was raised from death to life (Romans 4:25)
so we have peace with God
through this justification (Romans 5:1)

through our faith in the risen Jesus
also the Holy Spirit has been given to us (John 16:7)
since Jesus is alive and went to heaven
i am sure there is more than what i have mentioned
that shows the importance of
Jesus being alive and risen from the dead
not just the importance of his death
which is extremley important
but often ends up over shadowing
the importance of the risen Jesus
the justification bringing Jesus
the fulfilling of the law
the peace with God
and all that comes with that
so lets not forget the empty tomb
empty tomb
that represents the risen Jesus
and may we continue to discover
what a risen Jesus means
for those who believe
cause hey what would it be like?
if he had just stayed dead in the grave?

about God and spiritual things

so what is with "festival victoria"
none of my friends have posted on this yet
so i figured i had better get in
before they do
i was just looking at the "youth"
section on the website
which they did a pretty good job with
the website that is
now sure it is great!!!!
when people choose to follow Jesus
(i hope that's what they will tell them at this event
that you don't just get to have a relationship wih God
but that you get to follow him
and choose to follow his will
which you may find can be a bit different
to what you want to do sometimes)
but it is even better they
keep on choosing to follow him
everyday
including the one after all the hype and excitement
that is just one of my dislikes of huge 'evangelistic' events
cause often out of the 500-?000 people who go "down the front"
only what i would imagine would be a much smaller percentage
would actually get followed up and become followers of Jesus
and the rest just get confused or hurt
so the other thing is
friday night is the youth night of festival victoria
and this is the line up
The Katinas
an r'n'b group you may know if u like r'n'b and "christian music"
Nicole C. Mullen
is a pop singer who is big in the "christian music scene"
mainly populer in the USA though
Marina Prior
a singer and apparently she does theatre too
you would know her if you religiously watch the Myer Music Bowl Carols
Roma Waterman
is a pop/folk singer i would say
has played plenty of "christian concerts" and supported many
more famous christian acts
you may like her if in my opinion
you are my mum or dad or of similar age
Franklin Graham
oh can't forget this guy
or his father Billy at least
alot of christians probably don't even know who he is
other than that he is Billy Graham's son
so if u are someone who likes r'n'b, pop, or folk music
or old guys who have famous fathers
and are more so between the ages of 21 and 50
why not go along to this great? youth event?
i mean hey if i thought it was a great idea to run an event
i think i would have got
Antiskeptic
Sounds Like Chicken
Head - from Korn
Andy Hunter
Rhubarb
Tonjip
Crossmovement
P.O.D.
U2
and other cool bands/groups/artists who play more than just "christian gigs"
set up in a Big Day Out kinda set up
ie many stages with diff bands and music genres
have some cool Aussies speak if we had people speaking like
John Smith - God Squad (christian bikers)
Michael Frost - a great communicator and real good aussie bloke
and other people who could like just share stories about God from their lives
and maybe there could like be a big forum on spirituality and faith
and also on compassion and justice
and what really is life all about?
there could be like an art section
for people to do big collages and murals
there could be like a sports section too
with like basketball, football (A-League round ball), football (AFL oval ball), Cricket, netball and whatever
there could be a cars section too
a show 'n' shine, sound off, a dyno, drag race
also an eXtreme section with skateboarding, inline skating, bmx, dirt bikes ....
and i suppose we could shove in the corner somwhere a rodeo kinda thing
and a whatever else too
or maybe i would just go to the
Big Day Out
Auto Salon
A-League match
AFL match
Rugby League
Globe World Cup
Melbourne Art Museum
Denny Ute Muster
or whatever else you might be into
with the intent of building better relationships with people
and making opportunities to talk to them
about God and spiritual things
