I made the magazine

I picked up the current Australian FourFourTwo magazine, it is the August issue and for those of you who don't know how these monthly work that means it is the issue that came out in July, the first week of July for this magazine. I just thought I would comment on how ridiculous it is that they call it the August issue when at it's release all the articles would have been written in June, making all the information current as of June and then the issue released in July. So where does August come in there???
Anyway so back to what I was telling you, they published my letter I wrote to them, they titled it "There's More To Football" and it is actually the first of the published letters in the issue! They are at the very front of the magazine (page 11) and it was to my surprise as I went to read the letters I thought to myself this sounds a lot like something i would say, and then hold on I wrote them an email oh look that's my name at the end, cool!
So i am very excited by this. I always knew I would make a football magazine.
Also if you are puzzled by the name of the magazine 4-4-2 is a football formation, four defence, four midfielders, two forwards, this is often considered an English formation.

The letter went something like this:
I love your magazine don't get me wrong but i think it lacks one important thing in the football world, that is coverage of the other forms of the game. I could be wrong but I can't remember seeing anything on futsal or beach soccer in your magazine ever. Futsal is slowly growing all over Australia, with strong leagues already in NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC. While beach soccer doesn't hold much ground in Australia yet I am sure that it could be big in the future. FIFA have world cups in both forms of the games and having watched some of the amazing skills of the players who sit at the top of these sports they surely deserve at least a page in your great magazine. Recently the Futsalroos competed in the AFC Futsal Championships making it through the group stage only to go out to the eventual champions Iran in the Quarterfinals. While in 2005 Australia played in the Inaugural FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup playing against the eventual champions France. Recently in beach soccer Ukraine won the European championship convincingly beating France. If your magazine had some guts and gave these fantastic forms of the game the profile lifting coverage they deserve you would be tapping into a untouched market in Australia. Keep up the good work.

And if you looked on page 93 you could read a report on the AFC Asian Futsal Cup 2007. The first futsal article I have read in the magazine.

Ah very cool. I like that you stand up for what you are passionate about. It is a well written article too. You told them what they should be doing in a very positive and inspiring way. Nice job at making an impact.
