"more people, more like Jesus"
So the church i am apart of has a little vision phrase that goes like this "more people, more like Jesus" but what i want to ask is this question what was Jesus like then? If we are trying to be more like Jesus and get other people to be more like Jesus then we had better know how to be like Jesus.
So tell me, what do you think? What in short points do you think Jesus is/was like and why?
I will start with this
Jesus preached God's good news and that the kingdom of God was near - Mark 1:14-15
He did this to announce the coming of the new age that John had been talking about and so that people would turn away from their sin and towards God.

Jesus was a man whose responses to people were constantly fuelled by compassion. eg. Mark1:41
This didn't stop him from making tough calls when people's hearts were closed to the message of God's Kingdom being here and now. Matthew 11:20

From my small group boys, Brad, Brae and Shano
Jesus cared for other people, because everyone matters to God especially those who most people don't care for.
Jesus was lovely like how if i get a gift it is lovely and Jesus being our gift is lovely.
Jesus is there for people when they are down and out. This is because he wants to help them up, to give them a hand up in life and bring about restoration.

Jesus was executed for exposing how those in power exploit the poor.
(But being executed didn't stop him.)

The first thing I think of is grace. He didn't let rules and traditions keep hungry hearts away. He paid attention to the hurting and the "horrific sinners" who were so lost. He let people interrupt him. He even ministered to people who screamed at him. And he worked with ordinary guys who weren't good enough to be of the religious elite. His grace of accepting people for who they are, seeing the hope of God's potential in them and their heart attitude. That's amazing to me.

I don't think he was really always interuptable though kelly, sometimes he said no i am going to move on from here and go elsewhere, he had his purpose and mission on this earth and he stuck to it, so if it fit in with what he was about and what he was doing then yes he was interuptable for whatever he might run into, but at the same time he kept his priorities in check and did what he needed to do to get the job done.
